March was a swirl of corporate events for Timothy, ranging from Lorne Victoria, Gold Coast Queensland and out to Orange in Central NSW. These were Corporate Entertainment, Conference Master of Ceremony work and a Creative Thinking Motivational Keynote.

The Lorne engagement was for a group of audiologists, a return assignment, they had previously taken him up to Port Douglas in Far North Queensland. It provided an opportunity to tackle at least a small section of the deservedly famous Great Ocean Road.

The Gold Coast assignment was a CEO Summit for Oil & Gas Executives at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort.

Australian Magician

A circumnavigation around New Zealand on P & O’s Pacific Jewel was the highlight of February. Two weeks on board means quite a range of different material must be performed in the show spots, a chance to work on some new material and revisit some older rouines.

The Tasman crossing from Sydney can be a bit “lumpy” but this trip was fairly calm. The ship spent a day in the amazing Milford Sounds before visiting Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga, Auckland and the Bay of Islands. Timothy was born in New Zealand so it was a great opportunity to see a few of his old haunts and catch up with a couple of friends.

Interestingly, he was in Christchurch just a week before the second devasting earthquake hit the region.

December saw Timothy in Brisbane at the famous Suncorp Stadium and an Infotainment session for Origin Energy.

Infotainment? A blend of Entertainment and Information or to put it another way, a Show with Content.

Suncorp is surprisingly well set up for conference groups and the large group  from Origin enjoyed Timothy’s after lunch session, combining mentalism and some Creative Thinking Tools.

November tends to be a very busy month for Australia’s Magician of the Mind Timothy Hyde.

This year, he facilitated a Goal Setting and Planning session for a corporate group at the fabulous Bannisters Resort, explored creative thinking techniques with the Mater Hospital executives in Newcastle and was MC Entertainer  at a large Association Awards night at Crown Casino Melbourne.

ARCIA is the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association and this was the second year in a row they have used Timothy to entertain at their event.

A quick reading of the range of services that Timothy Hyde can provide at a conference will show you there are many options apart from just entertainment. Quite a few clients use him for more than one role at a conference.

LCM Healthcare was holding a large Conference at Bondi beach during the month and saw the obvious benefits of using Timothy twice. On the first night he provided after dinner entertainment with his Mind Magic show and the next day expanded on some of the concepts with a hands on Creative Thinking Brainstorming / Gamestorming session.

ASIC are Australia’s corporate watchdog and have in their ranks some very clever people with diverse backgrounds in fraud, criminal investigation, taxation and government. So who better to entertain them than Australia’s Magician of the Mind –  Timothy Hyde.

With themes in his show around Lie Detection, Personality Types and Predicting Behaviour you can see why they have used him on 4 different occasions for their corporate entertainment.

Another busy month with a lot of travel. Down to Glossop, South Australia  where Timothy conducted a half day creative thinking team building session with a large amount of fun thrown in.

Then up to Port Macquarie to a conference of Primary School principals where he did both a show and acted as MC for the Conference.

Finally a session closer to home, motivating and entertaining a group of volunteers with the Family Drug Support network.

Every two years since 1990 Timothy has travelled to the USA to attend a conference called the Meeting of the Minds. A professional association of Mind Readers, Hypnotists, Memory Experts and general performers in the Mystery Arts.

This year the event was in Los Angeles which meant an easy trip over and luckily Timothy’s wife was able to attend well. Timothy has both performed and lectured at the prestigious conference.

As well as the shows and lectures Timothy was able to cross a few things off his bucket list – Dinner at the Magic Castle, a night of baseball at Dodgers Stadium and an extended tour of the Gamble House in Pasadena, one of the most exquisite examples of American Arts and Crafts architecture.

Another busy and varied month for Australia’s Magician of the Mind.

Always nice to get booked in Queensland as the temperature starts to drop! Timothy headed for the GoldCoast  to entertain a large group from the Logan Valley Disability Services at Sea World resort. This is the second Conference session he has run for this group.

He also acted as MC at several large functions in Sydney.

Timothy’s Travels – Robben Island, Cape Town South Africa

One of the years highlights was to be engaged as MC at a large association Conference in Capetown South Africa. The Austbrokers & IBNA conference attracts several hundred delegates from around Australia and they have used Timothy as their entertainer and MC on several occasions at both State and National level. But to be asked to travel with the group to South Africa was a real honour.

With conference activities including – visiting Robben Island, drinks on Table Mountain, Gala Dinners at The Castle, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Ernie Els Winery at Stellenbosch you can see it was a memorable trip.

After the Conference Timothy & Lynda hooked up with prominent Bird Guide Patrick Cardwell and headed off for a weeks birdwatching in the Western Cape. Destinations included the Western Cape National Park,  Karoo Desert and Cape Point. Altogether an unforgettable trip.
